Modern Day Cricket : The Permanent Change

The thing that each generation of cricketers, analysts and fans ponder about, the modern day cricket. As they say, change is the only permanent thing, so does modern day cricket. Gone are those days, when batsmen faced raging fast bowlers with caps on, when fans used to rush in after the team’s victory to celebrate with the players themselves. It’s all ‘closed’ now. Physically out of reach, mentally as well. Fans are now defined as a bunch of people who turn up to the cricket fields just for the sake of entertainment (T20s, errr…). The enthusiasm of a cricket fan of this generation has certainly been changed, thanks to the ever-lasting process of modernization. It would be a mistake to say people aren’t supporting the true form of cricket, but even in that form of the game, one wishes to see a contest between the two teams. Entertainment, that is.
